DESCRIPTION: Pair of side chairs “System 123”, 1st edition. This S-shaped swivel dining chair they are a very decorative pieces and it were made circa 1973 in Denmark. The materials are steel, brushed aluminum and fabric. The upholstery is new.

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. Wear consistent with age and use.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER: Verner Panton (born in Gentofte on February 13, 1926, died on September 5, 1998 in Copenhagen) was a Danish architect and designer. He was one of the first to introduce pop art to the world of furniture. He is known, among others, for his polypropylene chair, a single piece injected in a lathe without any subsequent assembly, created in 1959/60.Its industrial serial production by the Vitra factory in Weil am Rhein It began in 1967 and continues to this day. It continues to be considered a work of art in interior and exterior decoration. Among his other works, the canteen in the former editorial building of the weekly Der Spiegel in Hamburg, transferred to the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in 2011, stands out.
