Pair of Margarita Brender slipper chairs. Made of pine and straw. Stylized and comfortable circa 1960, Spain. Very good vintage condition. Margarita Brender Rubira (Romania, July 4, 1919 – February 11, 2000) was a Catalan architect. She studied architecture in Romania, but in 1962 the Barcelona School of Technology validated her degree. In this way she became the first woman architect in Catalonia. In 1962 she was the only woman affiliated to the Official College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC) and for many years she was the only one to practice this profession alone in the province of Barcelona.
